In The Wind

about

I wrote this song back in June with great uncertainty of how to communicate the sorrow I felt for the Black and Indigenous lives taken away so brutally public. Not knowing how to build on it, it so happened that I was nominated to participate in the Black & White photo challenge celebrating female-identifying folx. Upon further research, it led me to a much larger movement that I was completely unaware of.

I stand in solidarity with the womxn in Turkey and the movement in hopes that accountability and justice will be taken into action so my fellow sistren will longer have to suffer. I accept the challenge.
This song is for you. I see you and I stand with you.

lyrics

Steady as the wind blows
Careful walking through the woods
Mind your heart, be strong and bold
Cast your worries, fly away
Steer your helm and fly away

Her child, her little kin
Young, sweet, so innocent
Strolling by without a hint
Metal streams blow away
Pray her heart her breath to stay
Pray their heart and breath to stay
